Hi, I’m Shulin!
My parents found my name in a Rolling Stone magazine. It means ‘delicate lotus blossom’ and has been a prophesy for my life—the lotus constantly turns mud into precious nutrients and rises anew.
Since I can remember I’ve been drawn to all things spiritual—God, Universe, yoga, meditation, astrology, tarot, and so many other forms of healing. Throughout my life I tried to hide these interests and intuitive gifts, or joke about them to others to hide how meaningful they were to me. But as I find on the awakened journey, more and more I cannot hide who I truly am and I don’t want to!
As a child I prayed to God to keep my mom safe when she worked nights at Walgreens. God for me eventually turned into Goddess as I learned about nature based religion. I had my first profound meditation experience at 15 when I attended an introduction to meditation—I felt all things merge and my entire body became white light. I was so excited about meditation after this that I picked it as a topic for a school assignment and led my class and teacher in the same meditation. One of my classmates told me she was blown away by how powerful the experience was. This became a milestone for what would later reveal as my purpose in this lifetime.
In college, I found Ashtanga yoga which was an answer to my prayer for a way to feel more connected with myself and my body. After college I trained in Bikram hot yoga which propelled me even further into profound states of consciousness. Pretty quickly, hatha yoga led me back to its destination, meditation, and I found myself living and serving in a yoga ashram for 6 years. There I became immersed in the study and practice of yoga, and my training in yoga philosophy helped me better understand the spiritual experiences I was having as well as the world and how to live in it. Eventually I ventured out of the safety of the ashram determined to live the teachings I had received—this continues to be a work in progress!
During my time at the ashram I experienced my first Reiki healing. I had a debilitating upset stomach and my friend offered me Reiki. Without even touching me, he hovered his hands over my stomach for a few minutes. I had no idea what he was doing, but within an hour my upset stomach cleared. I became more interested in this gentle yet effective healing tool and a few years later became initiated into Reiki. Since then I’ve been initiated into multiple levels of Reiki, including Celestial and Master, and I’m honored to initiate and mentor others in this simple yet powerful healing technology.
My professional background is eclectic and summarized through leadership and learning. I’ve worked administratively, built databases, managed banquet food service, directed programs and planned large-scale events, taught yoga and meditation, trained in life coaching and executive leadership, and offered healing services. My most recent corporate role was National Director of Human Resources & Diversity-Equity-Inclusion, and successor to the Chief Human Resources Officer, until I got “sick.” I place this in quotation marks because I don’t identify with the common understanding of the term. Rather this was a milestone on my spiritual journey of awakening where there would be no turning back and no more margin of pretending to live for anything other than my true life’s purpose of healing for myself and others. Since then I have been on a focused journey supported by spiritual mentors and colleagues, nurturing my unique abilities, and stepping forward to support fellow seekers who are also on a path of healing and awakening.
My mission is to serve divine wisdom and unconditional love. I do this through sustained inner work (I am forever a student!), creating safe space for clients to recognize their soul’s unique intelligence, and through energetic technologies such as Akashic Healing, Reiki, Astrology and more. These tools are gateways into the quantum field where all possibility exists and where we have the opportunity to rewrite our stories and transform the outcomes of our lives. I’m honored to be your partner in reaching new heights, new understandings of self, and living a life that is greater than you or I could ever imagine.
