Yoga, Pilates & Somatic Experience 

With over 25 years experience teaching and practicing yoga, and now incorporating Pilates & Somatic experience, I’m delighted to guide you in your movement practice. We’ll identify your goals and intention for the session, and then get to work to make the most of our time together.

Students use these sessions for all sorts of reasons:

  • Deepen an existing practice

  • Relieve pain

  • Calm the nervous system

  • Begin a personal practice

  • Learn about your unique body

  • And sometimes just simply to treat yourself to a great personalized experience

Whatever your aim, we’ll partner together so you receive exactly the right guidance.

Sessions take place online via zoom, or in-person by request. Individual sessions and packages are available.

Methods…

…that I’m trained in and draw from in client sessions:

  • Series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, typically practiced in a heated room. Improves strength, flexibility and balance. Therapeutic for the entire body, especially when addressing injury and pain.

  • Dynamic style of yoga that emphasizes fluid movements synchronized with breath. Great for creating a personalized sequence based on your unique body and needs.

  • Restorative style of yoga that focuses on spinal decompression and inner transformation. Utilizes props (such as blocks, blankets and chairs) with gentle breath, precise alignment, slow and deliberate movement, centered awareness, and some meditation.

    Embodyment Yoga Therapy - hands-on healing for deep spinal release unique to Svaroopa Yoga style yoga.

  • Sequence of postures and body skills that improve strength, flexibility, and stamina. Perfect as a home practice and supplement to other activity.

    Developed by Mary Jarvis, a devoted Bikram Yoga Practitioner of 41 years, in the early 1990's to get her out of pain and help her become whole again after spine injuries caused by a debilitating car accident.

  • Pilates blends precise alignment, curated movement, and layered muscle firing to retrain motor patterns, heal injury, and activate a sense of deep stability from within.

    My Pilates training is with NEU Pilates and incorporates principles of physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and fascial release.

  • Somatic experience brings conscious attention to the body in every moment, calms the nervous system, and is the quality of awareness we develop when practicing Yoga, Pilates and all forms of healing.
